Victoria's is run by trained and certified professionals who enjoy every level of teaching sewing and the creativity involved. We offer private classes for beginning to advanced sewers. If you are taking a class from one of us, we try to be available to answer your questions concerning the project you are working on with us. What we request from those taking our classes: While taking our classes we ask that you put your phone on vibrate, (if you feel that you absolutely must have it on) and if you must answer it, we ask that you leave the room to show respect to the others in the class and the teacher. ~ Registration for classes are on a first come, first served basis. Please sign up early to insure that you get to take the classes that you want. ~ For safety reasons children are allowed in the classroom only during Children's classes or under the supervision of a parent. ~ We suggest that you arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of class in order to set up your machine and get your stuff ready. ~ Classes start promptly at their scheduled time. ~ Class fees are based on a 2 1/2 hour class time. There could be additional charges after the time allotment is over. ~ Lastly, we request that you limit the use of perfume while taking classes in deference to those who have a low tolerance to scents.
Class Supplies Define "Sewing Supplies" One of the questions that we get asked a multitude of times is: What are sewing supplies? Well, the basics are threads, machine needles, scissors, pins, a washout marker or chalk, extra bobbins, a ruler and accessory feet to go with your machine. Now, as we get into specialized sewing, there would be other supplies that are necessary stabilizers, hoops, embroidery/sewing machine complete with all attachments, a large assortment of embroidery thread, either prewound embroidery bobbins or if you wind your own then bring several already wound(more than 3), curved scissors, doubled sided tape and tweezers. Hope this info helps. What to bring to class Scissors, pins, the accessory feet for you machine, a seam ripper, cutting mat, ruler(s), note paper, pencil, chalk marker, water erase marker, threads(sewing and embroidery), bobbins, stabilizers, your machine and the embroidery unit in good working order. We believe that your own machine is the best machine for you to do your learning on. So, we prefer that you would use it for class. We are always happy to get it out of your car for you. If this is impossible for you and must use one of our machines, please call at least three days in advance to make arrangements. However you will still need to bring your sewing supplies with you. |
